Percy Albert Barrett, who appears to have had earlier military service in the Royal Garrision Artillery, enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps in May 1917. Posted to 9th Brigade H.Q. in France in March 1918, he served there as a batman right up until his death from a duodenal ulcer on 2 April 1919. He was 39 years of age and was buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery, Germany.
