The Uniform Coinage of India, British Imperial Period, Victoria, silver Quarter-Rupee, 1878, type C/II, Calcutta, crowned and robed bust left, victoria empress, flower at left of lowest jabot, v on bodice at centre, rev. 1/4 rupee above india and date, all within scroll-like wreath of Indian flora, tip of wreath to right of top flower spiky, edge grained, 2.92g/12h (Prid. 383 [Sale, lot 149]; SW 6.253; KM. 490; cf. Fore III, 2257). Toning spot on reverse rim at 1 o’clock, otherwise brilliant mint state, light peripheral toning, very rare £500-£700
