Thomas Henry Brown was born in Woolwich around 1850 and attested for the Royal Artillery in 1868. Appointed Sergeant Instructor of Gunnery, his name appears on the medal roll of the 1/1st London Division, Royal Artillery, for the Third Burmese War, the entry adding: ‘Served as R.A. Head Quarters Staff, Upper Burma Field Force.’
