Albert Rossiter was born in Cheddar, Somerset, in 1873 and attested into the Royal Field Artillery in October 1892. He served at Home and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1911. Discharged in October 1913, he reenlisted, aged 41, into his old corps in February 1915, for service during the Great War. Appointed Battery Sergeant Major, he served in the Egyptian theatre from 11 December 1915 and was discharged ‘Class Z’ on 22 February 1919. He died in Preston, Lancashire, in 1951.
