Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (J. G. Andrews, Skd. Carpt’s. Mte, H.M.S. Alacrity.) impressed naming, minor edge bruising, therefore very fine £80-£100

John Gammage Andrews was born in Bristol, Somerset, in March 1849. He joined the Royal Navy as a Shipwright in January 1879, and advanced to Carpenter’s Mate in July 1889. Andrews served with H.M.S. Alacrity from August 1886 until July 1889 (awarded L.S. & G.C. in December 1889). He was shore pensioned in January 1899.
