Joseph S. Foote lived at Thorpebank Road, Shepherd’s Bush, London, and served with the Royal Field Artillery during the Great War on the Western Front from 18 March 1915. Sometime transferred to the Royal Engineers and Royal Corps of Signals, he survived the war and was awarded the Territorial Efficiency Medal on 4 January 1924.
Sold with a fine portrait postcard photograph of the recipient wearing the uniform of a Corporal and bearing the insignia of a Lineman in the London R.F.A. (Territorial) Battalion.
