The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Serving Sister’s shoulder badge, 1st type (1892-1939), silver and enamel, circular badge with white enamel cross with heraldic beasts in angles raised above the background, on lady’s bow riband, in fitted case of issue; Defence and War Medals 1939-45; Service Medal of the Order of St. John, silver, with three Additional Award Bars and top V.A.D. riband bar (25819 A/Sis. Louisa Edith Ellen Turtell was born on 16 November 1896 and is recorded in 1939 as a resident of Toller’s Lane, Coulsden, and a Nursing Member of the St John Ambulance Brigade.

Sold with the recipient’s S.J.A.B. bronze Re-examination Cross, the reverse engraved ‘307126 Louisa E. E. Turtell.’
