Arthur Rogers was born in Bradford around 1866. A moulder, he attested at Halifax for the West Riding Regiment on 22 June 1886, his Army Service Record noting a spell in prison in 1889, ‘with one additional year to serve’, repeated again in 1891, with another ‘additional year to serve.’
