A pair of American silver oval salts, of English mid-18th century design, cast with lion masks and repoussé decorated with flowerheads and foliage, on ball and claw feet, each engraved with black letter initial ‘F’, by J E Caldwell & Co., together with a pair of Victoria silver salt spoons with scallop bowls and handles fashioned as whips, by Hilliard & Thomason, Birmingham 1863, and a silver circular box and cover, repoussé decorated with Oriental-style flowerheads and foliage on a sanded ground, the base engraved with cursive initials ‘E B’, retailed by J. E. Caldwell & Co., salts diameter 8cm, box height 6cm. (5) £200-£240
