Roman Imperial Coinage, Allectus (293-296), Antoninianus, ‘C’ mint, 293-5, imp c allectvs p f avg, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. saecvli felicitas, emperor standing right, holding spear and globe, s p in field, c in exergue, 4.47g (RIC –; RCV –; S –). Struck on an oversized flan, about very fine with some surface scratches and an olive green patina £300-£400

found in Holderness (East Yorkshire), 2010

The reverse type is only recorded in RIC for London, which is R2; this example with the ‘C’ mint mark is previously unrecorded.
