An 18ct gold and diamond buckle ring by Ben Rosenfeld Ltd, 1972, designed as two single-cut diamond hoops with textured gold detailing, to polished shank, London hallmark, maker’s mark ‘BRLd’, ring size M. £600-£800
Ben Rosenfeld was a British jewellery designer based in Hatton Garden, and trading from around 1959 until 1987. In the immediate years after the Second World War, gemstones were scarce and therefore prohibitively expensive, hence gold became highly fashionable, with often the use of just small gemstones and diamonds as highlights. Rosenfeld gained an international following for his designs during the 1960s and ’70s. Examples of his work can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
