Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Elandslaagte, Defence of Ladysmith, Belfast (4617 Pte. W. F. Jeffries, Devon: Regt.) minor edge bruising, nearly extremely fine £500-£700

W. Jeffries attested for the Devonshire Regiment, and served with the 1st Battalion in South Africa during the Boer War. He was severely wounded at the Battle of Elandslaagte on 21 October 1899, and was subsequently dangerously injured in an accident at Machadodorp on 23 September 1901. He died of his injuries three days later, on 26 September 1901.
