James Gardener was the son of Mr and Mrs W. Gardener of 7 Yew Tree Road, Kidderminster, Worcestershire. He served during the Great War with the 1st Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment in the French theatre of war, and was killed in action, 13 March 1915.
Private Gardener is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
