Edward Sharp joined the Army on 9 November 1917, and was posted to the Royal Flying Corps on 24 March 1918. He transferred to the Royal Air Force on its formation on 1 April 1918, and served with during the Great War on the Western Front from 15 June 1918. He was discharged to the reserve from 22 Squadron on 16 July 1919

William Albert Cullum was born in Stepney, London, on 29 May 1899 and joined the Royal Naval Air Service on 20 July 1917. He transferred to the Royal Air Force on its formation on 1 April 1918.
