John Arthur Charles Grant was born at Aldershot in 1874. He served in the South African War with the Oxfordshire Light Infantry and died of enteric fever on 17 December 1900, at Norval’s Pont. He is commemorated on the Boer War Memorial to the Oxfordshire Light Infantry at Edward Brooks Barracks, Abingdon.
