Albert W. Bumford was born on 1 September 1893, and resided at Barry, South Wales. He attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and served with the 2nd/4th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was taken Prisoner of War on 22 March 1918.
