lbert John Harvey, a native of Plaistow, Essex, attested for the Essex Regiment (Territorial Force) at West Ham on 27 August 1914, and served with the 6th Battalion during the Great War at home. Promoted Sergeant on 15 January 1916, he transferred to the Northamptonshire Regiment on 29 September 1916, and saw further service with the 4th Battalion at home. For his services at home during the Great War he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, this being his only medallic recognition. He was discharged on 13 February 1919, and was awarded a Silver War Badge.
Sold together with the recipient’s cap badge, shoulder titles, and lapel badge; Northamptonshire Territorial Force Association Certificate; letter of congratulations on the award of the M.S.M.; various letters and telegrams regarding the recipient’s marriage; and copied research.
