A Victorian silver vesta case modelled as a horse’s hoof and forelock, the hoof embossed ‘FIRST FAVORITE’, bearing lozenge registration patent mark to the reverse, the hinged sprung lid revealing full hallmark beneath, by makers David & Lionel Spiers, Birmingham 1883, length 5cm. £550-£600

The registration lozenge is for the date of 7th November 1882.
