Selwyn Grayston was born in 1924, the son of Harold and Anne Grayston, and served as a Flight Sergeant Navigator with 84 Squadron, Royal Air Force. He was killed when his Beaufighter Mk10 RD787 crashed from a steep climb whilst turning after take off from Poona Aerodrome on 25 January 1947, with the loss of the entire crew of three. Grayston is buried under a C.W.G.C. headstone in Kirkee War Cemetery, India.
