Edward Stevens attested for the Royal Sussex Regiment and served with the 11th (South Downs) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 3 September 1916, and having no known grave is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.

Sold with a St. John Ambulance War Service Badge; a brass R.S.M. sleeve badge; two brass C.S.M. sleeve badges; and Royal Sussex Regiment cap badge.

Percy Daughtrey was born in Worthing, Sussex, and attested for the Royal Sussex Regiment. He served with the 12th (South Downs) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 30 August 1916, and having no known grave is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.


William Charles Chatfield, a member of ‘B’ Division, Metropolitan Police, attested for the Royal Sussex Regiment and served with the 13th (South Downs) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He died of wounds on 8 September 1916 and is buried in Couin British Cemetery, France.
