British War and Victory Medals (2. Lt. D. T. Peffers.) together with Bronze Memorial Plaque (David Tweedie Peffers) all contained in contemporary Brook & Son, Edinburgh, bronzed glazed frame surmounted by regimental badge, extremely fine (3) £120-£160

David Tweedie Peffers was born in 1896, elder son of Mr D. Peffers, of Edinburgh, and was educated at the George Weston College in Edinburgh, 1907-12, after which he studied surveying and engineering. He enlisted on 28 October 1914 and joined the 9th Battalion, Royal Scots T.F., and was appointed Lance-Corporal in March 1916. He was granted a commission as Second Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders on 29 September 1917, and was killed in action near Mercatel, France, on 27 February 1918, ‘instantaneously by a shell’. He is buried in Wancourt British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, and is also commemorated on the George Watson College memorial.
