Archibald George Pincott was born in Sutton, Surrey, on 8 October 1893 and enlisted in the Royal Marine Artillery at Birmingham on 4 December 1911. He served during the Great War in H.M.S. Centurion, and was present at the Battle of Jutland, 31 May 1916. He was discharged on 21 October 1918.

Wilfred Evelyn Smith was born in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, on 18 March 1892, and joined the Royal Marine Light Infantry at Southampton on 23 February 1910. He served during the Great War in H.M.S. Africa , and was discharged on 27 March 1931. Enlisting in the Royal Fleet Reserve the following day, he was promoted Corporal, and saw further service during the Second World War, whilst based at H.M.S. President III. He died of disease on 28 January 1942, and is buried in Gibraltar (North Front) Cemetery.

Sold with a number of photographs of the recipient’s C.W.G.C. headstone.

Thomas Corcoran was born in Glasgow and served during the Great War with the Mercantile Fleet Auxiliary in the S.S. Princess Melita.

Clarence Hannant was born in Hull, Yorkshire, on 5 June 1897, and joined the Royal Naval Reserve on 18 October 1916. He served during the Great War in H.M.S. Pekin, and was dispersed to shore on 11 January 1919.

John Henry Hilton was born in Earlswood on 4 October 1894 and joined the Royal Marines at the R.M. Depot, Deal, on 8 May 1915. He served throughout the Great War as a Bandsman, being advanced to Musician on 6 October 1918. He was discharged on 16 December 1919.
