An 1822 Infantry Pattern Officer’s Sword to the Irish Revenue Police, the 81.5 cm slightly curved sword with a pipe back and spear point by ‘Lambert Brown & Co., 27, Dame St., Dublin & 236, Regent St., London’, the blade etched with the crown over a scroll ‘Revenue Police’ set upon sprays of shamrock crowned ‘VR’ cypher and shamrock sprays also with ‘Warranted London Made’, wire bound fish skin grip, gilt metal pierced hand guard incorporating the crown over a shamrock spray and ‘Revenue Police’, together with its black leather scabbard mounted with three gilt metal chapes, the blade with rust patches, most gilt lacking on the hand guard and the back strap and on the scabbard chapes, the scabbard fractured and the lower section missing, the bottom chape detached £400-600
