Queen’s Own Glasgow Yeomanry Cavalry Officer’s Full Dress Sabretache c. 1863-70, a very fine and rare example, the red moroccan pouch overlaid with a blue cloth face this with a scarlet cloth edging overlaid with thistle pattern gold lace and bearing in the centre St. Edward’s crown in gold and silver thread, red velvet and green silk, the script letters ‘QOGYC’, below large thistle sprays in gold and silver thread enclosing a silver bullion thread star of the Order of the Thistle this with the motto but in the centre on a ground of buff velvet a rampant lion in gilt metal. The reverse with retailer’s details Hamburger Rogers & Co., 30, King St., Covent Garden, London, the thistle pattern train lace is dull otherwise very fine overall condition £900-1200
