Royal Bucks Yeomanry Officer’s Shako c. 1857-76, a good quality example, the blue cloth body embellished with a broad band of silver oak pattern lace around the top, the front peak inlaid with silver wire, the frontal badge shows the crown over a pierced Garter motto with ‘VR’ Cypher in the centre, a pierced silver scroll below ‘Strike Home’, silver plated chin chain with rose pattern side ornaments, silver cord cap and body lines with olivettes, buff leather sweat band and crimson silk lining, black cock’s feather falling plume with blackened silver plume holder; together with a japanned metal carrying tin, this with brass name plaque ‘C.W.Powell, Esq., Royal Bucks Yeomanry’, seven small moth holes to the crown otherwise in very sound condition, the fastening hasp missing from the carrying tin (2) £500-700
