Edward IV (First reign, 1461-1470), Light coinage, Groat, York, class VIIIb (?), mm. lis on obv. only, no e on breast, quatrefoils by neck, 2.34g/2h (cf. B & W VIII; N 1583; S 2013). Possibly a contemporary forgery or an issue from locally made dies, very fine and toned, very rare £150-200

Although a little small and light, this coin appears to be of reasonably good silver. The style however is rather crude and the outer legend on the reverse is partly blundered
