John Noble Mitton, a native of Hillsborough, New Brunswick, served during the Second World War in No. 7 Operational Training Unit, Royal Air Force, and was killed when his Wellington aircraft crashed on 27 February 1943. He is buried in Kilkerran Cemetery, Isle of Arran, Scotland.
