Gordon Highlanders Post 1881 Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate, an Embroidered Royal Naval Victorian Period Oval Panel, Head Dress Badge to the 3rd Volunteer Battalion the Lancashire Fusiliers, the first of standard pattern for the regular battalions, rectangular gilt back plate with silver overlays comprising unit title and badge the Tiger over a plinth India and Sphinx/Egypt. The second in silver wire embroidery shows St. Edward’s crown over a fouled anchor within a double border 16 x 14 cms. The third comprises a crowned eight pointed star in white metal with a gilt overlay, this features laurel sprays enclosing Sphinx/Egypt and a scroll at the base of the laurels ‘Salford’, the whole on a burnished plated background complete with what appears to be the original pin fastener though there is evidence that this item was originally a pouch badge or pouch belt plate, no gilt remains on the first item otherwise good overall condition (3)
