C. C. Allsopp was present at Elandslaagte and the Defence of Ladysmith as a Trooper (No. 283) in the Natal Mounted Rifles. He afterwards served in the Utrecht Mounted Police before being commissioned into Kitchener’s Fighting Scouts in 1901, in which year he was wounded in the fierce action at Tweefontein on 14 November. On that occasion, the 2nd Fighting Scouts acted as the rearguard. Sold with copied medal and clasp roll verification.
