The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet c. 1902-14, a superb example, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of green vitreous enamel a silver strung bugle horn with in gilt ‘KLI’ within the strings, a scroll at the bottom ‘King’s Shropshire Lt. Infty.’, the plate is original to the helmet, buff leather sweatband with ivory silk lining and retailer’s details ‘Hamburger Rogers & Co., Covent Garden’, together with its named carrying tin also by the same retailer and named to ‘Capt. E.C.L.Van Cutsen, Shropshire Light Infty’, in very fine overall condition £800-1000
