Owen Sherwood Phillips, 2nd Lieutenant, 4th Battalion, South Wales Borderers, was killed in action at Kabak Kuya Wells, Gallipoli, on 21 August 1915, aged 23. The son of John Pinneger Phillips and Kate Phillips, of South Wulstan’s, Tibberton, Droitwich. A native of Bredicot, Spetchley, Worcester, he was a scholar of Keble College, Oxford, and Captain of Boats 1913-14. He is buried in the 7th Field Ambulance Cemetery, ANZAC. Sold with copied photographs of Lieutenant Phillips and a recent photograph of the cemetery.
