A late 16th century gold posy ring, the broad flat band inscribed to the exterior with a cross potent and the posy ‘BOVNDE * BY * FATHE’ in serifed capitals, the ND and the HE ligatured, between raised beaded borders, ring size P. £2000-3000
This ring was discovered in Cobb Manor in Gatenby in North Yorkshire in 2012. It has been disclaimed by the Crown under the Treasure Act of 1996, Treasure Ref: 2012-T886, PAS: NCL-5FE897. A copy of the paperwork will accompany the lot.
