Arthur Walter Everitt was born in Barking Town, Essex. An Office Boy by occupation, he attested for the Leinster Regiment at Stratford on 15 June 1908, aged 16 years, 2 months. With the regiment he served in India, December 1908-November 1911. During the Great War he served in France, September 1914-January 1915 and December 1915-May 1917, being transferred to the Royal Irish Regiment in August 1916. Transferred to the R.F.C./R.A.F. in March 1918. As an Aircraftsman 1st Class he took his discharge from the R.A.F. in June 1932.
