Three: Sepoy Lall Sing Demaie, 4th Goorkha Regiment

India General Service 1854-95, 3 clasps, North West Frontier, Umbeyla, Looshai (Sepoy Lall Sing Demaie, 4th Goorkha [Regt.]), partial loss of naming owing to bruising; Afghanistan 1878-80, 3 clasps, Ali Musjid, Kabul, Kandahar ([Sepoy Lall] Sing, 4th Goorkha Regt.), partial loss of naming owing to bruising; Kabul to Kandahar Star 1880 (Sepoy Lall Sing Demaie, 4th Goorkha Regt.), the first two with contact marks and edge bruising and the I.G.S. with flattened suspension claw, otherwise good fine, the last rather better (3) £800-1000

The 4th Goorkha Regiment was raised in 1857 as the Extra Goorkha Regiment and was re-designated the 4th Goorkha Regiment in 1861. The regimental history confirms that it took part in the Umbeyla and Looshai campaigns and in operations on the North-West Frontier of India in the period 1863-72, in addition to seeing service throughout the Second Afghan War 1878-80.
