A Second World War ‘Burma’ I.D.S.M. group of six awarded to Subadar Ali Bahadur, Royal Pakistan Artillery, late 5th (Bombay) Mountain Battery, Indian Artillery

Indian Distinguished Service Medal, G.VI.R. (37876 Hav. Ali Bahadur. 5 Mtn. Bty., I. Arty.); 1939-45 Star; Burma Star; War Medal; India Service Medal, these late four unnamed as issued; Pakistan Independence 1947 (PJO-2506 Sub Ali Bahadur R.P.A.) first with edge bruise, very fine and better (6) £600-800

Recommendation: ‘For outstanding courage, discipline, loyalty and devotion to duty at all times throughout the campaign in Burma and especially at Pa-an Ferry (11-12 Feb 1942) at Bilin River (17-21 Feb 1942) at Mokpalin (22-23 Feb 1942) and at Yenangyaung (17-19 Apr 1942). He displayed initiative and resource of a high order and never allowed the conditions, however exacting, nor the fire of the enemy to lower his high standard of technical efficiency and accuracy.’
