Rev. Daniel B. Smith, Y.M.C.A. entered France on 29 October 1916.

Edward Pennock was born in Goathland, North Yorkshire and enlisted at Whitby. Serving in the 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders on 29 September 1916. He was buried in the A.I.F. Burial Ground, Flers.

Able Seaman Michael English, Merchant Navy was killed when the S.S.
Solway Queen was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine, seven miles west of Black Head, Wigtownshire, on 2 April 1918. He was the son of Michael and Anne English and husband of Catherine English, of 26 Weadick Opening, Lower Main Street, Arklow.

Silver War Badge ‘257478’ awarded to 265968 Private Percy Brightmore, 18th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, who enlisted 17 May 1915 and was discharged 21 August 1917.
