William John Woolmer was born and lived in Weekley, Northamptonshire and enlisted at Kettering. Serving with the 1/4th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers, he died of wounds, France/Flanders, on 22 March 1918. He was buried in the Hermies Hill British Cemetery.
