William L. Edwards volunteered in September 1914. Serving with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 2 December 1915. It is recorded in the National Roll of the Great War 1914-1918 that he played a distinguished part in many engagements, particularly the battle of Vimy Ridge and the Somme, being wounded in the latter battle. He was invalided home and remained there until demobilised in March 1919. With copied m.i.c. and National Roll extract.
