Ernest Charles Chilcott was born in Spraxton, Somerset and enlisted at Taunton. Serving with the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 27 November 1917, aged 22 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, Louveral. He was the son of James and Sarah Chilcott, of Swang Cottage, Cannington, Bridgwater, Somerset.
