Serjeant John Tester, 20th Hussars died of wounds received in action at No. 13 Stationary Hospital, Boulogne on 25 May 1915. He was buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery.
Sold with Princess Mary’s Christmas Tin 1914, with associated card otherwise empty; whistle on chain; commemorative scroll in glazed frame; damaged and repaired telegram informing Mrs Tester of her husbands death; Army Form B 104 to Mrs Tester confirming death of her husband; letters (3) from No. 13 Stationary Hospital to Mrs Tester informing her that her husband was wounded and seriously ill/ had died/ and was buried; letters of sympathy (2); slip to accompany the British War and Victory Medals; card envelope and associated slip for the plaque; War Graves of the British Empire booklet - Boulogne Eastern Cemetery; photographs of Serjeant Tester (3).
