James Grundon, who was born in Yorkshire in 1877, served in the Imperial Yeomanry Bearer Company as a stretcher-bearer and orderly during the Boer War, when he was attached to the Pretoria Detachment. He was re-embarked for England in November 1900 and settled in Wanstead, Essex, where he was employed as an insurance clerk. He rejoined the Colours in the Great War, serving as a Warrant Officer in the Army Service Corps, and died in Wakefield in January 1956; sold with copied research.
