(22307366 Sgt. A. Sherman, R.E.M.E.), with its named card box of issue; Army L.S. & G.C., E.II.R. (22307366 Sgt. A. Arthur Sherman was born in 1932 and enlisted in the Royal Armoured Corps (R.A.C.) in Liverpool in January 1950. Transferring to the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (R.E.M.E.) in January 1952, he served in Malaya from August 1954 until January 1957 (Medal & clasp), and in Nigeria from February 1960 until June 1963, in which latter period, as verified by his Certificate of Service, he was awarded the Independence Medal. Having then transferred to the Army Reserve as a Sergeant in January 1972, he served in the Sultan of Oman’s Forces and was awarded his Special Royal Emblem in November 1985; sold with the original certificate of award for the latter, together with the recipient’s original Regular Army Certificate of Service.
