A custom built scroll hilt cavalry officer’s sword, the slightly curved 86cm pipe-back blade, back-edged for the last 25cm, lightly etched and engraved with stands of arms foliate scrolls etc., the pipe-back also etched with a repeat running pattern of leaves, there is no royal cypher displayed, steel scroll guard similar to that ordered for the heavy cavalry in 1821, unusual plain steel back-strap, fluted pommel and ferule, wood grip covered with brown polished leather bound with twisted copper wire, complete with its steel scabbard with two hanging rings, blade retaining some of its original finish and good condition overall £200-250
