An Immediate Copy of a Letter from Captain Charles Lake 3rd Foot Guards Dated Bruxcells June 19th 1815, and a Cast Brass Eagle Valise Badge From the Field of Waterloo, Lake writes to his father giving details of his own injuries and a brief resume of the battle, he asks ‘Dearest James’ to get a frank and forward it to his father, he also asks to be remembered to Mr. Witts. This copy was folded and an outside panel inscribed ‘Mr. Witts copy of a letter received from Bruxcelles today’. Together with a cast brass eagle valise badge with a hand-written note stating ‘picked up on the field of Waterloo by the servant of Captain Charles Lake 3rd Guards Regt, who was there wounded (G. F. W’s great uncle), good overall condition £200-300
