Jack Deasington was born and lived in Wolstanton, Staffordshire and enlisted at Stoke-on-Trent, serving originally with the North Staffordshire Regiment. When serving in the 2nd Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 17 February 1917, aged 19 years. He was buried in the Adanac Military Cemetery, Maraumont. He was the son of Joseph and Sarah Deasington, of 12 New Street, Wolstanton, Stoke-on-Trent.
