Highrs.) first & second clasps connected by wire; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Defence of Ladysmith, Laing’s Nek, Belfast (4150 Pte., Gordon Highrs.); King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps (4150 Pte., Gordon Highrs.); Natal, 1906, 1 clasp, 1906 (136 Seaman, Natal Naval Corps) service number engraved; British War and Bilingual Victory Medals (3426 Pte. J. H. Kidd, 4th S.A.I.) last two with name and service number renamed, minor contact marks and edge bruising, very fine (6) £700-900

John Kidd died on 9 March 1947. His name is commemorated on the South African War Veterans’ Memorial at Trinity Cemetery, Aberdeen. With copied roll extracts re. the first three medals and with photocopied photograph of the memorial.
