79605 Private James Roy, Royal Engineers, late 1580 Private in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, was killed in action, France/Flanders, 9 August 1915, aged 19 years. He was buried in the Guards Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy. James Roy was the son of Joan Roy, of 14 Dunlop Street, Nitshill, Glasgow. With copied casualty details and m.i.c.
1471 (later 250605) Private John Roy, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 1 May 1915 - entitled to a 1914-15 Star. Disembodied on 13 March 1919. Awarded the T.F.E.M. on 1 May 1919. Having first attested for the 6th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders in 1910, he re-enlisted for the 6th Battalion in 1921. With a quantity of copied service papers and m.i.c.
