‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At a critical moment he showed great personal courage and initiative by collecting stragglers and attacking a strong machine-gun post which was bringing flanking fire to bear on the remainder of his company, who were engaged in attacking another post. He captured the post and took the garrison prisoners.

Thomas Jenner came from Bexley Heath, Kent. As a Lance-Corporal in the Somerset Light Infantry, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 24 July 1915. Awarded the D.C.M. for his distinguished conduct in action whilst serving with the 7th Battalion. Transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 31 March 1919. With copied m.i.c.
