J. Balfe, who was entitled to the B.W.M. and Victory Medals, enlisted in August 1916 and was discharged in July 1918, when he was awarded the Silver War Badge.
Ralph Douglas Goodall’s service record is available online - born in Ogley Hay, Staffordshire, in 1889, he enlisted in the R.A. in December 1915, but later transferred to the 3rd Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, before joining the 17th Battalion M.G.C. He was entitled to the B.W.M. and Victory Medals.
Robert Hilton enlisted in the Lancashire Fusiliers in 1910, and served with the 6th Battalion during the Great War, so was most probably present in operations in Gallipoli owing to his entitlement to the 1914-15 Star trio. He was discharged as a result of sickness in December 1916 and awarded the Silver War Badge.
Fred Albert Hurst’s service record is available online - he first went to France in September 1916, with the 4th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, and suffered a gunshot wound to the chest on 8 October 1918.
John Jones’ s service record is available online - born in Manchester, he enlisted in the Lancashire Fusiliers in December 1915, but later served with the 9th Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment, in Salonika and Turkey. He was entitled to the B.W.M. and Victory Medals.
E. D. Taylor first went out to France with the Lancashire Fusiliers in September 1914, but later served in the Cheshire Regiment and Worcestershire Regiment, and was discharged as a result of wounds in April 1919, when he was awarded the Silver War Badge.
William Beckett, Samuel Smalley, and William Stuttard, were entitled to the B.W.M. and Victory Medals.
