Thomas Stewart Anderson was awarded his K.P.M. in respect of services as a Superintendent in the British Somaliland Police. Having then transferred to the Sarawak Police and been actively employed in Brunei and Borneo, he was appointed a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Ulster Defence Regiment in January 1968.
